It's been a busy week this one. I've just uploaded a third Mix Taype to Mixcloud. The Burrow Taypes Pt. 1. This one's a little more uptempo than the two Unlax Taypes. It's a collection of some of my fave house music from the last 6 months or so. In particular, Jasmine Thompson - Adore (RAMI X Sander W Remix). I'm totally obsessed with this song at the moment. The original version was incredible, I love her voice. There's a decent Official Remix Package too. However, they ran a remix competition so there are loads of unofficial remixes kicking around that are well worth checking out.
This mix includes a few Fidget Music releases and tunes produced at Fidget Studios because, working closely with both, I've been listening to a lot of the stuff coming out of both recently.
The Facebook post for this mix includes links to as many Facebook pages as I could find for the artists and remixers responsible for this superb selection.
I've posted a new Mix Taype to Mixcloud; The Unlax Taypes Pt. 2 - Tropi-nsperation-al. It's a selection of inspirational and uplifting Tropical House and similar tunes.
Inspired by a trip to Glastonbury, hence the photo, and the release of the (free to download) track Imagination by my good friend Mau Kilauea. It contains a number of Tropical House, Deep House and Chill tunes that have uplifting lyrics and uplifting melodies. There's some excellent cover versions and remixes in there too.
I've just posted a new chill / ambient / tropical mixtape to Mixcloud. Inspired by the release of my remix of Mau Kilauea's Meditation and spending the evening on a beach watching the sunset I've gathered together some of my favourite chill and tropical tracks of the last few months. There's atmosphere, there's uplifting stuff, the BPM builds through the mix to make it energising and there's some cheesy covers in there too to raise a smile.
Here it is. The result of my recent time at Fidget Studios and the cause of my barely concealed over-excitement for the last week or so.....
When I heard this Chill track on Mau Kilauea's new album, Imagination, I knew it needed (I needed) a longer, atmospheric mix, in the style of a Dire Straits, 1980s guitar classic and I was massively honoured when Mau let me get my hands on the track's components to put this together.
This has to be the track that I'm most proud of to date, and that's down to the quality of the original that Mau and Stewart Garry created.
